Description: |
Multigrade
bitumen is a special binder which, for the
same level of penetration as a conventional
bitumen, has reduced thermal susceptibility.
This means that it is less fragile at low
temperatures and more consistent at high
temperatures. The mixtures produced with
this type of bitumen provide more resistance
against the forming of ruts and against
distress due to fatigue. |
Multigrade bitumen is a
chemically modified bitumen that has the
properties of a hard paving grade bitumen at
high service temperatures coupled with the
properties of a soft paving grade bitumen at
low temperatures |
|
>>
Applications: |
Multigrade
bitumen are applicable to all types of
bituminous mixtures and particularly to
wearing courses with high traffic demands,
such as slow lanes, lanes of heavy traffic,
channeling lanes, motorways, toll areas,
road junctions, docks and general parking
areas. They are ideal for climates with a
very wide temperature range. |
These
characteristics mean that Multigrade bitumen
is an exceptional binder for roads prone to
extreme service temperatures and is
ideal for climates with a very wide
temperature range. |
